Equipment Rental Insurance Requirement

All equipment rentals from Phat X Events require proof of insurance covering the full replacement value of the rented gear for the entire rental period (including transit, use, and storage).

We partner with InsureMyEquipment.com — a specialist in production, audio, video, podcast, lighting, and event equipment insurance used by many rental houses and creators in the industry. Their online platform lets you get covered in minutes and instantly generate the Certificate of Insurance (COI) we need.

Why we require this
Insurance protects both you and our equipment. If something happens (accidental damage, theft, transit issues, etc.), the policy covers the replacement or repair cost so you’re not personally responsible for the full value of the gear.

How Renters Get Insurance from InsureMyEquipment.com

Follow these steps before your pickup or delivery date:

  1. Get the rental value
    Contact Phat X Events (909-706-6810 or phatxevents@gmail.com) after selecting your gear on phatx.com. We’ll confirm the total replacement value you need to insure.
  2. Start a quote
    Go to https://insuremyequipment.com/
    Click Get a Quote → select Rented Equipment.
  3. Complete the application
    • Enter your personal or business information
    • Enter the total replacement cost of the gear you’re renting from us
    • Choose your rental dates and preferred deductible
    • Review any optional coverages (e.g., theft from vehicle if relevant)
  4. Review and purchase
    You’ll see an instant quote (short-term policies start around $270; annual options are available).
    Pay with a major U.S. credit card. No obligation until you purchase.
  5. Generate your Certificate of Insurance (COI)
    After purchase, log into your dashboard:

    • Click Create a COI
    • Add Phat X Events as the certificate holder / Loss Payee using these details:
    • Submit — the COI is emailed automatically.
  6. Send us the COI
    Forward the COI (or confirmation) to us before the rental starts. We must have approved proof of coverage before releasing equipment.
